The 25Zulu Show #14

October 29, 2008 by Paul · Leave a Comment

I’ve been really late getting these shows posted onto the blog, so on the eve before our 15th 25Zulu Show I’m finally posting about the 14th show. :)

Scott Dennstaedt joined us again for a short Weather School. You’ve read his work in Plane & Pilot and IFR magazines.

We also chat with Russ Niles of AvWeb, Master CFI Tom Gilmore, and the creator of the Brightline Flight Bag Ross Bishop.

For those that were not able to listen live, you missed out as we gave away one of the great Brightline Flight Bags at the end of the show!

The show is now available for download from our Archives page or via iTunes.

The 25Zulu Show #13

October 29, 2008 by Paul · Leave a Comment

Well, we made it to everyones lucky number, Episode #13.

Luckily we were not revisited by the phone and internet problems we had during the previous show.

We were joined by Celebrity-ATCer Don Brown (he’ll probably hate that) live in the studio for the entire broadcast. You’ve read his longtime column on AVweb. Don shared some great stories and gave us a behind the scenes look of what goes on at an ATC facility. You can read his blog Get The Flick for more stories and commentary.

We were also joined by weather guru Scott Dennstaedt. You’ve read his work in Plane & Pilot and IFR magazines.

The show is now available for download from our Archives page or via iTunes.

Google Buys Fighter Jet?

October 25, 2008 by Paul · Leave a Comment

There is a news report that beleives that Google has added a Fighter Jet, a Dornier Alpha Jet, to their fleet.  Is an attack on Microsoft eminent?  :)

The airplanes that Google uses, a 757, a 767, and two Gulfstream V’s,  are not actually operated directly by Google, but by another company named H211, LLC.

All of these airplanes are partially used by NASA and have permission to operate out of a NASA airport that private jets are not usually allowed to operate from.

I don’t believe the Google founders themselves are actually pilots, but I have heard that Google CEO Eric Schmidt is an avid pilot, so maybe he is looking to have some fun with a fighter jet.

DayJet Fleet For Sale

October 23, 2008 by Paul · Leave a Comment

I always thought DayJet was an interesting idea, but it looks like they were not able to pull it off.

A fleet of 28 former DayJet Eclipse 500’s are now ready for immediate sale.  You can read about them here.

Maybe it’s time for a Gold Seal Corporate Jet?  :)

Steve Fossett Search News

October 1, 2008 by Paul · Leave a Comment

A blogger over at Fox News is reporting that a couple discovered some documents while hiking in the mountains.

Apparently these documents appear to be FAA cards with the name Steve Fossett on them.  They also found some tattered clothes nearby.
